Devotional God's love can never be fully understood, but it can be seen! It is best seen at the cross! Thank God for the Blood of the Lord Jesus! Our love of God will be visible if it is possessed!
When the love of God is present in our lives as a believer, it will be visible in our lives the following ways:
We will have a great love for the Savior
We will love God's Scriptures
We will love gathering with other Christians
We will love the Saints
We will truly love the Sinners
God's love is more than just being loved! It is opening our lives so that the Lord can love through us. So that He can reach a world for Himself.
Verse If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Devotional When we acknowledge our sins to God with a sincere heart He forgive us. We must also turn away from the sin and decide not to do it again. If we have sinned we are forgiven but there may be real consequences to deal with as a result.
Verse In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Devotional When you have Jesus in your heart you do not need to fear the dark or any scary things. Jesus is the Word and He created everything. If he lives in your heart then nothing evil has power over you. All you need to do is claim the authority Jesus has over all things. Thank you God for sending your son Jesus. Amen!
Verse So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
Devotional God the Father himself loves us because we have loved Jesus and have believed that He came from God. He wants to prosper us and give us peace even in a world full of craziness. All we have to do is ask Him. What a great and powerful promise!
Verse I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Devotional Have you ever cut a pretty flower and by the time you get home it is wilted? It doesn't take long to wilt spiritually when we cut our selves off from Jesus either. Father in heaven help me bear fruit that is pleasing to you. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Verse My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. NKJV
Devotional Claiming to love is not enough, because love is not a thought that is produced by or coming from our feelings or emotions, but by our deeds and our actions towards others.
Jesus help me to grow and have genuine love for everyone, not just the people I like or my family. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.
Verse By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? NKJV
Devotional When we become Christian it is that we have chosen to change from death to life and that we have turned away from hate to love. When we don't show love it shows that we are spiritually dead. Because love is the test of whether we have experienced new birth or are still in the darkness of spiritual death. Someone who shows hate has never experienced the new birth of Jesus Christ.
Jesus save me, make me born again. In Your precious name I pray, Amen.
Verse Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Fatherís house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.NKJV
Devotional God loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus to the earth to save us and to remove our sin through his death on the cross so that we can have life everlasting with him in heaven. Simply by believing in Jesus and accepting him as our Lord and Savior. Jesus is telling us here that in heaven in God's dwelling place, there is a special room for each and every one of us who believe. It does not matter where we were born, what color our skin is or what language we speak. God has a place for all of us in heaven with him and Jesus. Thank you God for the gift of your son Jesus, whom you sent to save us and remove our sin so we could have eternal life with you. Amen
Verse My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
Devotional We are all human and all fall short sometimes no matter how much we try. The devil will try to fill you with guilt and all kinds of negative thoughts. When we sin Jesus stands for us in heaven before God the Father. By his blood on the cross our sins are washed away when we are sorry and turn from our sinful way. Thank you Jesus for making me clean again.
Verse No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.
Devotional Jesus can show us who God is fully, for he is one with the Father. Jesus is our window to the Father's heart.
Today's Prayer for Children
Thank you, Father, for giving me a window to your heart through the life and ministry of Jesus. Please bless me as I seek to know you better by knowing, understanding, and following Jesus more passionately. I pray in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
Verse Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
Devotional Since God so loves us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. What can you do to show another person love today?
Children's Prayer for Love
Father in heaven, show me how to love others as you love me. Let your Spirit guide me in all my actions today. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Devotional Sometimes even when we are doing all we are supposed to do God chooses to prune us. Getting pruned is not always easy and almost always involves losing something that means much in your life. But after pruning you will be even more fruitful.
Verse So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, Feed My lambs."
Devotional Immediately after Peter professed his love of Jesus, Jesus exhorted Peter to love and good works. When you follow Jesus He will set your path, guide you, encourage you, and keep you from stumbling.
Verse Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
Devotional God is Love and God loves us in spite of who or what we are or have been. Your past is exactly that, your past. Sometimes we need to remember to leave the past where it is (behind us) so we can move forward and enjoy the full love of God now and in the future.
Verse When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
Devotional Can you clearly see your path, or do you find yourself stumbling along with uncertainty? With Jesus in your heart, even in the deepest darkness you will have his light, He will make your path straight and keep you from stumbling.
Verse A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
Devotional We show the world that we are followers of Christ when we have love for one another.
Verse Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again."
Devotional Even if you could buy anything you wanted it still would not satisfy the deepest longings in your heart. God made us with a void in us that only He can fill. Nothing will satisfy this void except Christ. As you develop a prayer life you will begin to experience a longing for Christ, you will see His hand throughout your days and be fulfilled in your heart.
Verse If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Devotional How can we forgive ourselves for bad things I have said or done? Sometimes forgiving ourselves is the hardest thing to do. The bible says when we confess our sins to Jesus, He forgives us totally and completely. Try to make peace with anyone you may have hurt, ask them to forgive you. You will still have to deal with the consequences of the sin, but as far as God is concerned your heart is clean and you are ready for a fresh start.
Verse Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Devotional Jesus tell us in Matthew 5:43-44 - You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemies.' But I say to you, 'Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.'
The next time somebody is mean to you or does something to hurt you, pray for them.
Verse For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Devotional The bible tells us of the love God has for us and the extent of that love.. So great that He sacrificed His only Son on our behalf. John 3:16 teaches us that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ, God's Son, will be saved.
Verse This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are, Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God, nor is anyone who does not love his brother. NIT
Devotional The dictionary defines love as: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties, warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion.
When we love and do right we are like God and we please God. If we dont love and hate others we are committing our life to the devil, it is evil and will send us to hell if we dont change how we act and feel towards others. It is not always easy, but love and kindness is the answer to a full life blessed by Jesus and it is the only thing that will give us complete happiness.
Verse For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Devotional LORD, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross for my sins. It is because of Jesus I am forgiven and can be assured I am not going to hell. I know my name was written in the Book of Life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Verse Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. And this is the promise that He has promised us -- eternal life.
Devotional LORD thank You for dying on the cross for our sins. Thank You for the wonderful day we are having, surround us with Your angels and protect us. I also pray for all the sinners in the world and that they will learn about Jesus. Amen
